Most likely, we will be hearing the songs from their latest release, GOZO. Although it was a short album with five songs, they were definitely bangers. Each member added a little something extra to this EP, giving every track a distinct personality. For example, guitarist Hazuki shows her love for professional wrestling on the song Oblivious, inspired by a famous masked wrestler.
Personally, NEMOPHILA has been one of my all-time favorite bands. Since discovering them in 2020, I have followed their development and music. Fortunately, I had the pleasure of interviewing them when I was a correspondent with JROCK NEWS. They are very lovely ladies until they get on stage, and unload metal music heavier than Hell that will kick your ass!
About NEMOPHILA
A Japanese all-female band formed in Tokyo in 2019. They blend hard rock and heavy metal, calling it “heavier than Hell” music, with a fun aesthetic. Aggressive riffs contrast with gentle charm, winning over listeners around the world. The members are mayu (vocals), Hazuki (guitar), Haraguchi-san (bass), and Tamu Murata (drums).
The band gained international attention through energetic YouTube videos. Their albums include REVIVE (2021), Seize the Fate (2022), EVOLVE (2024), and Apple of my eye (2025). They are known for high-intensity performances and a positive approach to heavy music.
