Bursting out of South Korea, pop-rock sensation QWER is launching their much-anticipated WORLD TOUR ROCKATION. Moreover, a North America leg running October 31 to November 16 is bringing their signature energy stateside.
The four-member girl band is capitalizing on their sudden success and new fame, thanks in part to a reality series on YouTube called QWER Project in 2023, which invited viewers to participate in forming the band. That initial buzz paved the way for last year’s hit songs, T.B.H [고민중독] and My Name Is Malguem. Each racked up millions of views in a few months, now standing at 29 million and 27 million, respectively.
While QWER has already started the ROCKATION tour with three shows in Seoul on October 3-5, according to K-POP Newswire. The next leg of the tour will take the quartet to North America, with concerts in Brooklyn, Atlanta, Chicago, Minneapolis, Fort Worth, Houston, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. Finally, they will conclude the tour in Asia, visiting Hong Kong, Japan, and Singapore.

Back in South Korea, they made a big splash with their 2023 single album Harmony from Discord. The lead track, Discord, debuted at number 88 on YouTube Music’s Korea Weekly Top Songs. And climbed even higher in a neighboring country, placing fifth on Spotify’s Viral 50 – Japan. Compared to other Korean bands we love (like Rolling Quartz), QWER offers a refreshing mix of pop sweetness and rock hooks. As of this writing, this author is checking for tickets to see QWER next month. Maybe I’ll see you at one of the U.S. shows!

About QWER
This South Korean four-member girl band formed in 2023 through a YouTube reality series called QWER Project. The group blends rock and K-pop elements with a retro-futuristic aesthetic influenced by online gaming culture. In particular, they take inspiration from the League of Legends video game; their name references the QWERTY keyboard keys used for champion abilities. Additionally, their Korean name translates to “Favorite Children,” a term derived from the manga OSHI NO KO.
The band members were already rising as Internet personalities and were scouted for the reality series through livestreams and social media. Fans, later known as the “Bawige” (Scuttle Crabs), helped with this search. The Bawige also voted in the reality series that selected the band’s members: Chodanon on drums, Magenta on bass, Hina on keyboard, and Siyeon as vocalist and guitarist. The four won for their creativity, individuality, and live instrumentation skills. They are now signed with 3Y Corporation and Tamago Productions.
