About

This project is on an exciting mission to ignite passions for great music!

At Asia Amped Beat (AABM), this is an online magazine dedicated to the discovery and discussion of Asian music. Specifically, this organization will provide coverage of Asian rock and metal music for Western audiences. Our goal is simple: cut through the noise and clutter of the Internet and digital media with news, interviews, and insight into the sonic vibes from Asia. We believe these inspirational and talented musicians from the Far East need advocates in the West. And that is why this project exists!

Even in an era where AI and machine-generated music are everywhere, we are dedicated to celebrating the creativity and artistry of real, living human beings—the artists whose passion, breath, and soul shape every note. While we must acknowledge that artificial technology exists and can be part of the creative process, the overall work is made by and for real people.

About the Editor

G Andrew White has spent years as a rock music aficionado and metalhead. Although he grew up in Nashville, TN, USA—synonymous with country music—many might assume he would be drawn to those predominant records of Music City. Yet, as a kid, he danced in his sandbox and bedroom to the local rock radio stations. In these formative years, he headbanged to the music of Metallica, Van Halen, Mötley Crüe, Alice Cooper, Poison, and more. Later, buttoning down for grunge style with Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Soundgarden, and Alice in Chains.

Decades later, in 2019, he would discover a new sound from the Far East! The exotic music of Asia would reignite a passion that reminded him of his childhood days, when he listened to rock radio. Now, he still dances (in private) to BABYMETAL, BAND-MAID, LiSA, NEMOPHILA, ONE OK ROCK, Rolling Quartz, TRiDENT, X-JAPAN, and much more!

While serving as a writer and “Tour Page Guy” at JROCK NEWS, he wrote about and interviewed Japanese musicians and their songs. After that time, he would become the producer and guest commentator for the Gaijin Guys on YouTube. Now, as Editor for Asia Amped Beat Magazine, he champions the Asian rock scene by delivering cutting-edge news, exclusive interviews, and deep insights that connect fans worldwide.
