MTV may be gone, but we still have music videos to enjoy online. Especially, like the recent release BADidea from Korean indie rocker MEMI. On April 29, when the banger track was posted on YouTube and other streaming sites, we got an awesome punk anthem with party vibes.
In the music video, it’s like a jam session that turns into a house party with friends. According to the singer-songwriter, MEMI, she wanted a video reminiscent of the days when MTV actually played music videos! Clearly, the production values are simple, and the point of view establishes the scene in a recording studio. Yet, as BADidea increases momentum and energy, her friends show up to headbang and dance. As for the song, it takes what we love about her songs, like Get da Faka, and levels up!
Also, MEMI has leveled up in her career from an independent artist and social media influencer. Now, she is signed to the South Korean label DayOneDream. That is, they define themselves as an entertainment company that “architects the next dimension of entertainment.” This is a great stepping stone and boost for the phenomenal guitarist. In particular, as big fans since discovering her heartbreaking ballad, Sorry for my late reply, we are excited for this next chapter and her new music!
